August Spotlight: Katrina Dallamore – Abstract Landscape Artist
Katrina Dallamore is a Ramsgate based artist whose work beautifully explores the relationship between colour, landscape, and abstraction.
An illustrator and graphic designer who established her own design company, Katrina later trained as an art teacher and taught in many different establishments, including several prisons. She still teaches from home and aims to help students naturally find a path to their creative ambitions and further development.
Inspired by the natural environment, her paintings move gently between representation and abstraction, capturing shifting light, atmosphere, and quieter details within the landscape.
Her practice simplifies form to create works that feel both expressive and deeply considered. Whether intimate in scale or larger in presence, each canvas carries a natural sense of balance, movement, and depth.
Driven by a passion for colour, Katrina’s work explores subtle contrasts and the delicate connection between the figurative and the abstract.

Katrina has chosen “Calm at Last” as her featured image. Oil on canvas and large in scale (56x 106cm). A sky and seascape where the viewer is drawn into the interplay between soft greys, blues, creams through orange. You can’t be sure where the horizon is but you know it’s there, pulling you deeply into calm meditation and peace.
As lock down lifted, I went for a very early morning walk along the beach in Ramsgate. It was a very peaceful, quiet morning and as the dawn broke, I sat and observed this sunrise. I thought, I’m going to paint that and call it ‘Calm at Last’”

Katrina regularly exhibits at the TASS Summer Art Exhibition. We look forward to seeing her again in 2027.
