As part of the 800-years celebration of Sandwich mayors, this talk will share some of the stories about them through the past eight centuries.

Hear about the theft, extortion and bribery of some mayors, as well as the bravery, kindness and astuteness of others. Learn how we welcomed Royalty to the town and discover how Sandwich became one of the original Cinque Ports and was granted the ‘Honours of Court’ at Royal Coronations from the 13th century to the present day.
