Join The Arts Society Sandwich, together with The Arts Society Dover, Deal & Sandwich and Sandwich Arts Week, for a fascinating evening celebrating some of the extraordinary women who have changed the course of art.
From Artemisia Gentileschi and Frida Kahlo to Yayoi Kusama and many more, this illustrated lecture explores the vision, determination and sheer creativity of pioneering female artists who challenged conventions and reshaped painting, sculpture and installation.
How different would the art world look without them? And how many remarkable women have been overlooked or written out of the story?
Our lecturer, Crystal D. Evans, is a multidisciplinary fine artist, poet, author and art lecturer whose engaging talks bring art history vividly to life. With international exhibition experience, including the Venice Biennale 2025, she promises an inspiring and accessible evening.
